I have been a Science of Mind Student for 26 years and I am delighted to be affiliated with the Eureka Center for Spiritual Living because this trans-denominational philosophy offers a message with tools that heal and uplift individuals who in turn create a world that works for all. Our Center is a loving, inclusive community which welcomes and respects all persons, no matter where they may presently be on their spiritual journey. I have seen and experienced many demonstrations which confirm that Science of Mind works.
I am the retired President and co-founder of White Light Publishing. I moved to Eureka in 2008 with my personal and professional partner of 27 years to actively participate in the lives of our daughter and granddaughter.
I found our Center by many invitations, and finally accepted one of them. It was in 2009 that I walked through the door the first time with my friend, Pamela Kelley. From the very first talk, I liked what I heard. I have taken classes, which give me a better understanding of myself and what Science of Mind really is. It really is true, if you change your thinking, you change your life!
Susan Hesse, RScP ~ Treasurer
I came to Religious Science in 1999 and have never looked back. Once I started taking classes I knew I had found my spiritual home. I became a Practitioner in 2004 and have truly enjoyed serving this community in any way I can. I have been a member of the Core Council, office manager and treasurer, usher, greeter and all around volunteer.
My husband and I moved to Eureka in 1989 from Southern California and we own a small business in town. I retired from accounting in 2010 and find I can fill my days quite easily. I continue to take classes and workshops and I am one of the more frequent book buyers at our book store. I love to read and find time each day to indulge that need as well as plenty of time for relaxation and reflection.
I have always felt that my life was blessed and I have always known that I will be taken care of -- a pretty solid foundation from which to expand and grow. Religious Science has given me the skills necessary to stretch the boundaries of what I know and what I accept. For this teaching I am eternally grateful.
My name is Max Fletcher, and I have belonged to the Center for Spiritual Living for 11 years. The Science of Mind teachings are a gift from many great teachers, and my life is more meaningful because of them. My three children were born and raised in Eureka. Two of them live close by. I came to HSU from Redondo Beach in 1963. I received a BA in General Studies at Humboldt State. After working in the timber industry I am now retired. I enjoy dancing, hiking, poetry, playing congas and blues guitar and singing in the CSL choir. Serving on the council is an honor and I look forward to a rewarding experience.
